The ever-widening reach of the CDT community has seen the Annual Conference become a key fixture in the calendar of research events for the oil and gas sector as 83 students and 97 delegates gathered at a new venue, the Sheraton Grand Hotel in Edinburgh’s city centre, to discuss and celebrate the research outcomes achieved over the past year.
The conference was buoyed by the announcement of a £2.5 million studentship funding award which secures the continuation of the CDT’s integrated model of research and bespoke training, re-purposed to face Geoscience and its place in the Low Carbon Energy Transition.
Students from the 2016 and 2017 cohorts also contributed their views on the benefits of the CDT to their research and career development in the form of a Student Experience video.
The date and venue for the 2020 conference have been provisionally set for Thursday 5th November 2020 at The Sheraton Grand Hotel once again following the overwhelmingly positive feedback from students and delegates alike.
