The CDT’s 4th Annual Conference took place on Friday 2nd November 2018 at the Edinburgh International Conference Centre in the city centre, showcasing the work of 109 PhD students from 17 universities across the UK through both oral and poster presentations.

The CDT’s Academic Director, Professor John Underhill, welcomed Dr Nick Richardson, Head of Exploration and New Ventures at the Oil & Gas Authority, to open the conference and delegates then enjoyed short presentations by representatives from the Universities of Durham and Strathclyde, as well as from three of the CDT’s industry sponsors, BP, Equinor and Shell. The students also presented their experience of the unique bespoke training programme provided through the CDT as a prelude to the poster and presentation sessions throughout the majority of the day which provided students and delegates with ample opportunity to view, discuss and share the research being conducted through the CDT.
