PhD Projects

Following on from the success of the NERC CDT in Oil & Gas, we were delighted to announce that the CDT model and training program would continue as a result of a £2.5 million funding award. The CDT was re-purposed to face Geoscience and its place in the Low Carbon Energy Transition and is titled GeoNetZero CDT.  The first cohort of new PhD students was enrolled in September 2020 with two subsequent entry cohorts in 2021 and 2022. The new project titles at participating HEIs were advertised at the Geological Society Careers Day held at Burlington House on Wednesday 19th February 2020, possibly one of the last public events held before the introduction of pandemic restrictions.
